Momentum bar and heatmap
The momentum bar and the cover heatmap on your profile show how often you showed up.

What it does in Road Mates
The momentum bar swings like a Newton's cradle: each proof or check-in adds energy. Your profile cover is a heatmap of the days you showed up, so anyone who visits sees consistency before they read a word.
How it works
- Showing up counts, even on days with no big win.
- The heatmap is public on your profile, which makes your record visible to others.
- It counts every action you take, private ones too, and shows only how many each day, never which.
- Gaps are visible too, which is the point: they are honest.
What the research found
We found no study that tests heatmaps or momentum visuals directly, so we do not claim a separate effect. They are progress-monitoring displays, and the monitoring evidence applies: recording progress and making it visible to others both strengthened results.
Limits
- Streak visuals can also discourage people after a missed day. We watch for this in our own data.
- We count these features inside the needle's effect, not on top of it.
